where do i put a real estate ad for a house for sale ?
Since this question was asked about 8 months ago you have probably already solved your own question but for others out there, if you are a licensed agent you would get a little additional exposure if you advertise on craigslist. It would also be the same if you are a homeowner but the biggest bang for your buck is the local MLS. It is a proven fact that a home on a local MLS will get approx. 13% more then just a for sale by owner. Buyers typically reduce their first offer to a for sale by owner by at least 6% because they feel the owner is saving that much by not listing it. It is also the amount of exposure a house gets when it is on the MLS. Now you put thousands of agents to work selling your house rather then just a sign on the street with a FISBO. Granted, if you were on a busy street you would get more exposure then the typical FISBO but it still doesn't even come close to the local MLS.
