Seattle, WA Naturopathic Medicine - If you take prescription drugs, you know the true meaning of the phrase “side effect.” Contact our expert naturopathic practitioners in Seattle, WA and take the holistic approach. It’s not all sipping green tea and opening your chakras – we can offer natural medical alternatives for many medical issues, ranging from headaches to back pain to fatigue. On rare occasions, naturopathic medicine can even suggest an alternative to surgery.

Seattle, WA Holistic Medicine

Naturopathic medicine is a holistic healthcare profession combining natural and non-toxic therapies with current health and medical advances. It is generally based on the belief that the body is self-healing. Our naturopathic experts believe that the body will repair itself and recover from illness if it is in a healthy environment. Our practitioners will provide you with remedies, recommendations, and education for creating a healthy environment for your body.

Seattle, WA Naturopathy

Most naturopathic physicians are primary care physicians who are clinically trained in a variety of natural remedies and therapeutics. Some are skilled in aromatherapy or acupuncture, and others are more generalists that know a variety of natural healing medicine.

Generally speaking, naturopaths really like their herbs, and so they would be great companions at a well-stocked salad bar, or to watch a late night movie on Sundance. You also might be able to find them at many protests, so if you are feeling a bit under the weather, or have some strange pain, visit our local office, or even a local protest. Just make sure to preface your need for healing with a question like, “You are actually a certified physician, right?”

Otherwise, you may get the wrong kind of herbs. This reminds me of a story I heard from a professor I had for criminology. He reminisced about a Pink Floyd concert he attended in Chicago many years back. He told us that a sort of pharmaceutical convention broke out right in the stadium. Herbs were everywhere, apparently.

Seattle, WA Alternative Medicine

There are many kinds of naturopathic practitioners: clinical nutritionists, homeopathy, natural childbirth, midwives, botanical medicine, minor surgery, physical medicine, counseling and stress management, oriental medicine, aromatherapy, exercise science, and more.

Alternative medicine practitioners have cures and remedies for just about everything. Alternative medicine itself encompasses basically anything conventional medicine doesn’t, although I’m sure there are some limits. If you find a provider of alternative medicine that doesn’t have any set limits, you might want to be a bit wary, or may want to just go for it and try to get some great material for your book.

I can speak from experience that naturopathic medicine isn’t just for hippies. I’ve started using this thing called a “neti pot,” as an alternative to allergy and sinus medication. What you do is poor a saltwater solution into one nostril and it pours out the other, and with the outpour goes all sorts of nastiness. Sometimes, you accidentally snort the water and it runs down your throat and comes out your mouth. Yes, it’s mostly snot. And it’s disgusting. But it works. Give it a try.
