Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD)
training by Austin JOAD Archers. Year-round 2-hour
weekend classes for kids 8-18 and adults. Register for your first-time
Saturday class at www.aajoad.com. USA Archery-certified
instructors/coaches. Equipment provided.
Austin JOAD Archers' goal is to create an inspiring training and practicing environment for Junior Olympic Archers aged 8 to 18 and adult FITA target archers (Austin Target Archers).
Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD) programs are administered by USA Archery, which is the
national organization in the United States that develops and promotes
the sport of archery with the ultimate goal of producing Olympic
archers.
Since 1995, we have coached over 1,500 kids, including one Paralympic bronze medallist, three national champions, and, of course, many Texas State archery champions!
You can join Austin JOAD Archers or Austin Target Archers at any time. You don't need any shooting experience.
Joining
Austin JOAD Archers is often the next step for archers who loved
archery at summer camp, in the Boy Scouts or 4H, or in school through Olympic Archery in Schools (OAS), National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) or an After School Archery Program (ASAP). We welcome all levels and ages of archers.
Austin JOAD Archers is also a registered Austin Independent School District Off-Campus PE agency (AISD OCPE), so if you are in grades 7-12, you can apply to obtain PE credit for archery at our training center.
All instructors at Austin JOAD Archers have been trained and certified as coaches/instructors by USA Archery. Our Head Coach, Alex Meyer, is a USA Archery Regional Coach and a USAA Junior Dream Team Coach. He was also national champion when he was in JOAD, so he can take you as far as you want to go in archery!
Every
week there are kids and adults beginning. If you are a first-time
qualifier, please register under Classes. We always reward you for
doing your personal best with USA Archery Star Pins and Austin JOAD Archers certificates. So please join us and have some fun!
