With origins dating back to the medieval ages, Muay Thai
incorporates the use of arms, legs, knees and elbows, and is sometimes
referred to as "the science of eight limbs". Many consider Muay Thai to
be the toughest ring sport in the world. To the Thai people, Muay Thai
is regarded as a prestigious national sport.

The Muay Thai program at Tri-State Martial Arts teaches students the
science of kicking, punching, elbowing and kneeing. Students will
develop outstanding physical conditioning, speed, agility, power, and
practical self-defense skills. Muay Thai training will challenge
students to go beyond their expectations and provide them with
self-respect, discipline, and a "never quit" attitude.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a martial art and combat sport
that focuses on grappling, and especially ground fighting, with the
goal of gaining a dominant position. Students will learn to use
joint-locks and choke holds to force an opponent to submit or be
knocked out depending on what submission method is used. BJJ promotes
the principle that a smaller, weaker person using leverage and proper
technique can successfully defend against a bigger, stronger assailant.
BJJ can be trained for self defense, sport grappling tournaments and
mixed martial arts (MMA) competition.
