Our southern-most location in Oklahoma City on SW 104th Street was the 2nd location to have opened, and played an integral role in the success of the company.
Dr. Sheldon Shapiro worked closely with our founder Dr. Glenn Ashmore to open a satellite location in the south OKC ? north Moore area. One month from the 104th Street office?s opening, a fire devastated the original practice on NW 23rd. Leaving several doctors and countless patients with nowhere to go for their appointments, the south office was opened in March 2001, two weeks ahead of schedule to accommodate this displacement.
You may have noticed that this location looks a bit different than all of the others. The 104th Street office lacks many of the features that characterize the unique architectural style of the Dental Depot practices such as the mustard-yellow wooden siding and clock tower. Unique in its own right, this is because the south OKC office is, structurally, our oldest location! It was not until the post-fire rebuild of the 23rd Street office that the 1800?s western train station concept was employed. Though never converted to this style, the office has been expanded on three separate occasions to provide the area?s growing community adequate appointment times and operatories.
The 104th Street Depot has been a great asset to the City of Moore and southern Oklahoma City. When the May 20th tornado brought disorder to the region in 2013, Dental Depot served as a photo collection site where citizens could bring strangers? photographs that had been displaced by the storm. Moore and South OKC residents could show up to the location to reclaim these lost memories.
The Dental Depot on SW 104th has helped fund several organizations including Westmoore High School?s cheer squad and baseball team and Brink Junior High?s cheer squad for several years, and is a part of the South Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce.
This location features 20 operatories that host hygiene, orthodontics, and general dentistry.
