The Michael J. Keating Insurance, Inc. is now a third generation family business with Ryan M Keating coming on board in 2016. Officially formed in 1970 by my father, Mike Keating, Sr., after several years of working in the life insurance industry where he saw the need to provide additional service to his clients and founded the agency. He also saw the value in representing many different companies so the agency could meet the varying insurance needs of individuals, families and businesses throughout the West Hartford and Central Connecticut areas. To this very day, the Keating Agency is an independent agency representing the finest insurance companies in the country!
Over the years the agency grew and continued offering insurance through A rated companies, many of which are still strong partners with our agency to this very day. While growing within the community, family members also started to join the agency ranks in the early '80s. After 29 years in March of 1999, Mike Keating, Sr. turned the agency over to his son, Mike Keating, Jr., who is currently running the agency today.
Mike and his sister, Marguerite, worked together from 1999 to 2014 and adhered to the guiding principle of customer service excellence and doing what is right for the client. Mike has been a very active member of the West Hartford community and is an active member and past President of the Professional Insurance Agents of Connecticut as well as a member of the Independent Agent and Brokers of America. Mike knows the Connecticut insurance marketplace very well.
While not being the largest agency out there, our commitment to using technology that is available to you 24/7 in addition to our agency team who can help you find the right insurance solution. We also became affiliated with the SAN / SIAA Group which is an agency alliance which writes in excess of six billion dollars premium that enables us to provide market stability and access to meet our client's needs. After all, we have seen Ice Storm Felix, the Hartford Civic Center collapse, Hurricane Gloria, Halloween Storm, Storm Sandy, Storm Irene and other big events over the years that can affect our day-to-day lives.
